What is a paranormal? Do you equate paranormal activity with the movie, E.T., The Exorcist, Paranormal Activity or aliens? I decided to go directly to the source and interview Psychic, Cheri as well as interview Tula who I know frequents a psychic. Why not believe in a psychic? After all, we buy pills that will supposedly help us lose weight or pills that will purportedly make us smarter. Is is all a matter of believing?
Tula’s husband died suddenly in a freak construction accident in 2004, which left her a single mother of two young children to raise. Her friend, a police officer, suggested she see a psychic. Finally, a year later, when Tula was out of faith and hope, she turned to her friend who recommended the psychic. On Tula’s first encounter, the psychic picked up on Tula’s distressed situation. Tula then asked the psychic if her dad and children would be fine. She also asked about the pending lawsuits. The psychic read her, answered her questions and in time the predictions would all come true. Was she hooked or just needed something to believe in? She said that it was a little of both. Tula once fearful was now comfortable in seeking consult from mediums. She utilized ones at Venice Beach, San Manual Casino, featuring the Long Island Psychic, or psychics at the Irvine Spectrum.
Cheri is a psychic medium. She will do a cold reading. She closes her eyes and her guides show her symbols, images or maybe play a video of that person’s life. A good psychic clearly understand symbols, numbers and astrology so that they may interpret what they see. Psychics have ESP (extra sensory perception). Good psychics are ultra sensitive. Cheri can also perform paranormal activities by going into homes to remove negativity. She will talk to a house or a spirit that has been left behind and guide it through the white light. Other mediums read tarot cards, some tune into the dead, some use astrology or numerology.
Can a psychic medium be tested? Cheri said that the best way to test a psychic is to simply let the psychic read the client. Don’t ask the psychic questions. Cheri has been asked by ASU to be tested. They wanted to do scientific testing. However, Cheri indicated the only way to test a psychic was for a trained psychologist to test with questions so that Cheri could divulge information. ASU was no longer interested. She indicated that no scientific test could diagnosis such a “God given gift.” When Cheri encounters a skeptic, it’s usually best not to read them because it becomes a challenge and the psychic’s job is to give guidance and not to force them to cooperate or believe.
Another question I posed to Cheri was, “are psychics a cult? Cheri indicated that psychics are not cults. Cheri had a normal childhood but it wasn’t until she was 33 years old that it became apparent to her through friends and family that she had a special talent. She studied hard and maintains her studies so that she can read. She doesn’t read, friends, family or neighbors because she would rather “keep the peace.” Her gift allows her to read anyone she comes in contact with but as a doctor would rather treat a patient at his office or at the hospital, a psychic would prefer to treat at the office. Her clients either call or visit her. Cheri pointed out that the United States is the only country that is doubtful of psychic mediums. Here in the United States, spiritual advisors are known as psychic mediums. In other countries they are known as shaman, medicine woman/man, high-priestess, seer. It depends on the culture and religion. If you doubt a psychic medium, do your homework first. Make sure the medium is a personal referral, don’t answer any questions-let the medium do all the talking and a medium is not suppose to diagnose or give treatment. Check out your referral, good mediums are documented.
Tula also said a good psychic won’t give you bad news and that their abilities are instinctive. Cheri has already told us that her abilities are “God given talents” and as to the bad news, Cheri says that is a judgment call. A psychic must have compassion and understanding when reading a client. They cannot play God or doctor.
For the record, Cheri has never read Tula. Most women tend to believe in psychics because of their maternal instinct, most non-believers are men. Do you believe in psychics? The only way to understand whether you do or don’t is to spark the subject. You would be surprised what people have to say or who has visited a psychic. Think about the noises you hear in the house when no one is around. Is it a spirit trying to communicate with you?
